Project : Integrated Infrastructure Development in Tribal Towns of Gujarat

Project Introduction :

Gujarat has around 15% Scheduled Tribe Population spread mainly across 43 talukas of 12 eastern districts. For the Up-gradation of livelihood in Tribal Areas, one of the components of the program is the development in basic infrastructure facilities such as Water Supply, Sewerage, Sanitation, Solid waste management etc in the Tribal Areas. In this regard, the GoG has designated GUDC as a Nodal Agency for the implementation of Infrastructure Facilities in the Towns identified under Tribal Sub Plan.

The Identified (18 nos. of) Towns are : - Dahod, Devgadhbaria, Zalod, Rajpipla, Santrampur, Khedbrahma, Bardoli, Mandvi, Songadh, Vyara, Chhotaudaipur, Dharampur, Pardi, Umargam, Tarsadi, Shahera, Gandevi, and Vijalpor.
Project Component : Water Supply, Sewerage, Roads, Storm Water Drainage & SWM, including economic and social infrastructure.
Project Cost : Rs. 565.00 crore for around 10 lakh beneficiaries of the state of Gujarat.

 
TARGET / Benefits :
Water Supply : source – surface water, Water treatment Plants, Rate : 100 lpcd w/o drainage, 100% coverage with sufficient pressure.
Sewerage : Underground pipeline, Sewerage Treatment Plant, Reuse of treated sewerage
Storm Water Drainage : Underground pipeline
Roads : Better connectivity
SWM : Complying MSW Rules-2000
Uniqueness of the program
 First time in India, focus on tribal area infrastructure development centrally.
 Studies done at regional level to focus not only the residents but the additional beneficiaries like tourists, businessmen etc… visiting the towns daily. i.e. the program is covering 10 lakh beneficiaries.
 Project ensures 5 years O&M after implementation to built self sustainability and enhance capacity building.
