Schemes
  1. Primary Service's program for the development of the city (U.C.D. Project)
    In one Municipal Corporations and eight municipalities the program for the primary services (U.S.B.) is implemented for urban areas. This project is implemented in Rajkot and Vadodara Municipal Corporations, Rajkot district's Upleta, Dhoraji, Gondal, Jetpur, Morbi, Vankaner Municipality and Vadodara district's Padra and Dabhoi municipality. The basic purpose of this planning is to bring up the living standards of urban poor and neglected people and provide them better education.
  2. City Collective Development Program (U.D.C. project)
    State Government executes the City Collective Development programs in certain chosen cities. Under this program, Mohalla Samiti is created for executing various planning scheme in down-trodden locality. Primary facilities, health related facilities; economic as well as educational activities are given importance in such places. In this program every year maximum Rs. 3.00 Lac's is allotted. Out of which 40% grant is given to Municipal Corporation and 60% grant is given to municipalities. In State under this project following 6 Municipal Corporation and 8 – municipalities are covered.

Semi Judicial Role
  1. About removing the Municipality President / Vice-president / Members under section–37.
  2. About deciding the responsibility of the President / members on misuse of the Municipality funds under section-70.
  3. About appealing under Gujarat Municipality Act- 1963's section 258(3) and 38(4) against the order of the collector.
  4. About suspending the President / Vice President from the post under section-48
